Her achievements when she was a teenager in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would be a sure signification for her to the child-prodigy class. However, for an Irish girl surrounded with gifted parents and extended families, these characteristics were a normal. Maureen entered into this nurturing home on the 17th of August 20th in Ranelagh. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons is her mother. She was an accomplished contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin and was also the owner of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural aptitude of performing. She was the recipient of nearly every Feis Awards for her home nation's theatre and drama was a testament to this. In the age of 14, she had been admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing and classical theater.
